Basic Package: One round of copyediting

What it is:
Sentence-level edit that checks for grammar and punctuation, spelling, clarity, syntax, language usage, awkward sentence construction, paragraphing, and wordiness

Who it’s for:
Authors who are happy with the structure of their book and want a final polishing edit; authors wanting enhanced readability so readers stay on page 

What you get:

  • A professionally edited manuscript

  • One-on-one author support

  • Tracked revisions so you can see and review changes that were made

  • A short summary of the editing that provides feedback , thereby helping you improve your future writing skills

  • A style sheet that provides decisions made about spelling variations, punctuation, language usage, capitalization, and numbers

  • An editing plan that spells out a project fee, timeline, and payment policy

  • Plus: optional 30 minutes of follow-up consultation (email, phone, or Skype)

How it works:
I’ll complete a basic edit on your manuscript. All suggestions are made and tracked using the Microsoft Word Track Changes feature. Once you receive your edited manuscript, you’ll review each of the edits and deletions. You’ll then have the choice to accept or reject them. ​​If you have any questions, we can discuss them during a consultation.

How much it costs:
Starting at $1,805, per 80,000 words

Standard Package: Two rounds of copyediting (Most popular)

What it is:
Basic Package plus an extra round of copyediting. A second round of editing catches any errors that were missed or were previously introduced after the first copyedit and helps maintain consistency throughout the book.

Who it’s for:
Authors who are happy with the structure of their book and want their; authors wanting enhanced readability so readers stay on page; authors wanting to ensure consistency and cohesiveness

What you get:

  • Everything in the Basic Package

  • An extra round of copyediting

  • Plus: optional 30 minutes of follow-up consultation (total of 1 hour via email, phone, or Skype)

How it works:
During the first round, I’ll do a deep dive edit, leaving notes and suggestions. All suggestions are made and tracked using the Microsoft Word Track Changes feature. Once you receive your edited manuscript, you’ll get to review all of the edits and deletions. You’ll then have the choice to accept or reject them and make any necessary changes based on my notes.  

After this, we’ll move to the second round. You’ll submit your revised manuscript to me. I’ll double-check it for any errors and incorporate any of your changes, additions, or notes. A second round of copyediting is better than just one because the author can unknowingly introduce errors after making changes. If you have any questions, we can discuss them during a consultation.

How much it costs: 
Starting at $2,805, per 80,000 words

Premium Package: Two rounds of copyediting plus one round of proofreading

What it is:
Standard Package plus proofreading. This service polishes your work to its fullest potential, ensuring it’s ready to submit to agents and/or publishers or for self-publication. Proofreading is a word-level edit that checks for typos as well as spelling, grammar, typos, and usage errors. It is done as a final step to catch any lingering typos and format glitches.

Who it’s for:
Authors wanting to ensure their book is in tip-top shape before publication

What you get:

  • Everything in the Standard Package

  • One round of proofreading

  • Plus: optional 30 minute follow-up consultations (total of 1.5 hours via email, phone, or Skype)   

How it works:
During the first round, I’ll do a deep dive edit, leaving notes and suggestions. All suggestions are made and tracked using the Microsoft Word Track Changes feature. Once you receive your edited manuscript, you’ll review all of the edits and deletions. You’ll then have the choice to accept or reject them and make any necessary changes based on my notes.

Mini Edit

What it is:
A professional copyedit of the first 10,000 words of your manuscript

Who it’s for:
Authors who don’t want or need a full copyedit; self-starters wanting initial guidance

What you get:

  • A professional copyedit of the first 10,000 words of your manuscript

  • One-on-one author support

  • Tracked revisions so you can see and review changes that were made

  • A short summary of the editing that provides feedback, thereby helping you to apply what you learned from my edit to the rest of your manuscript

I’ll copyedit the first 10,000 words of your manuscript. All suggestions are made and tracked using the Microsoft Word Track Changes feature. Once you receive your edited manuscript, you’ll review each of the edits and deletions. You’ll then have the choice to accept or reject them.
